Note: the early decimal £1 is in the same style as the pre-decimal £1. The decimal £1 was eventually redrawn and appeared in its new guise from 6 December 1972. The pre-decimal £1 and early decimal £1 can be differentiated in plate blocks due to the latter having 'TOTAL SHEET VALUE £100' in the vertical margins. In addition, the marginal plate number of the decimal issue is fractionally smaller.
