David Morrison Reid-Henry (1919–1977) was born in Ceylon and moved to England in 1929 where he initially found clerical work. After serving in the Tank Corps during WWII, he offered artistic services professionally despite no formal training. He illustrated books, including Birds of the Atlantic Islands by David Bannerman, and designed the Mauritius 1965 and Botswana 1967 birds definitive series.
