Victor Ambrus
Victor Ambrus (1935–2021) was born in Budapest and fled to Britain after the 1956 uprising, completing his training at the Royal College of Art. A prolific illustrator of some 300 books and twice winner of the Kate Greenaway Medal, he was later resident artist on Channel 4's Time Team. His stamps include historical sets for Jersey from 1988 to 1992, Ascension and St Helena 2005 Christmas, and Falklands 2012 Oravia.
