Maurice Fiévet
Maurice Fiévet (1915–1997) was born in Klein, Montana. His family moved to Paris in 1929 where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts. From 1947 he and his wife travelled and painted in Africa. Many of his paintings from this period were used to illustrate National Geographic magazine. His stamp designs include Nigeria's 1953 and 1965 definitive series. The latter being re-issued in Biafra in 1968.
