Note: David Jim Hanna produced the embossed cachet for the 1954 Royal Visit of New Zealand in a choice of brown and gold or purple and gold. The unauthorised cachet in grey-black, in a smaller size with modified inscriptions, is recorded used for the 1953 Coronation in the Tokelau Islands and Western Samoa. It's likely these cachets were applied some time after the Royal Visit
