Raymond Briggs

Raymond Briggs (1934–2022) was born in Wimbledon and studied at Wimbledon School of Art and the Slade before a career as illustrator and author that produced Father Christmas, Fungus the Bogeyman, the Snowman and When the Wind Blows, twice winning the Kate Greenaway Medal. His one Great Britain issue is 2004 Christmas, with Father Christmas being challenged by the nation's changeable weather.
