Patrick Oxenham

Patrick Oxenham (1922–1996) was born in India and came to England in 1939, settling in Gloucestershire. In the army during the war he was in demand for portraits. Largely self-taught, he painted livestock, horses and wildlife for book publishers at home and abroad. Royal Mail commissioned two sets from him, 1977 British Wildlife and 1978 Horses. He also designed the 1981 Falkland Islands Farm Animals.
