Faith Jaques (1923–1997) was born in Leicester and studied at Leicester College of Art and, after wartime service in the WRNS, the Central School of Arts and Crafts. A prolific illustrator for the Radio Times and of children's books, she drew the first British edition of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Her Post Office designs are 1960 General Letter Office, 1961 Parliamentary Conference and the 1978 Christmas set of four.
