Edmund Blampied

Edmund Blampied (1886–1966) was born at St Martin, Jersey, and studied at Lambeth School of Art, making his name in the 1920s etching revival with some 200 etchings and drypoints of Jersey rural life. Under the German Occupation he designed Jersey's banknotes of 1942 and its 1943 pictorial stamps, and after the war the Channel Islands 1948 Liberation Anniversary pair and the first Jersey regional definitive of 1964.
