Biman Mullick

Biman Mullick was born in Howrah, India, in 1933 and studied literature in Calcutta before advertising design at St Martin's School of Art in London. He went on to teach graphic design and work for the BBC and Oxford University Press. His 1969 Gandhi Centenary was the first Great Britain stamp to honour an overseas leader and the first by an overseas designer. In 1971 he designed the first stamps of Bangladesh.
