Anastasios Alevizos


Anastasios Alevizos (aka Tassos) stamp designer
Anastasios "Tassos" Alevizos (1914–1985) was a Greek engraver, etcher and sculptor. He was awarded the Prize of Engraving in 1938 and the State Medal of Engraving in 1940. His interest in printing and graphic arts led him to illustrate many literary and school books. From 1954 to 1967 he created stamps for Greece. And from 1962 until his death he designed and oversaw numerous stamp issues for Cyprus.
